We are writing to you for the purpose of updating you on FACUA’s recent activities in ensuring the protection of consumer rights, as stipulated within our collaborative agreement. We have been engaged in a number of projects and campaigns to uphold consumer rights in Spain as well as working with numerous partners in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe on consumer rights projects in the aim of achieving sustainable development and building a fairer and equitable society.

Our most recent efforts towards this aim of building a more just society have included taking action against mobile phone companies that have charged their users irregular fees, getting airlines to cap additional fees that they charged and highlighting the possibility of privacy breaches by online social networking sites.

Our latest action has been to support the European Parliament in its legislative proposal, concerning compensation for airline passengers in cases whereby the airline company has gone bankrupt prior to the passengers flying.

We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with further information on our organisation, and to this end have attached a report on FACUA. Furthermore, our website facua.org, provides a comprehensive account of the organisations news and activities.
